Preparing for NEET UG is one of the most emotional and challenging journeys for every aspiring doctor. After months sometimes even years of hard work, late-night studies, and countless sacrifices, the final day of the exam means everything. But this year, NEET UG 2025 candidates need to be extra cautious. A small mismatch in Aadhaar card details could stand between you and your dream.
NEET UG Rules Bring Strict Aadhaar and Face Verification
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET UG exam, has clearly stated that any mismatch in Aadhaar card details will lead to disqualification at the exam centre. The authorities are leaving no room for error or fraud this time. In fact, for the first time, face recognition technology will be used at test centres. If your facial data doesn’t match what’s on record, you could be denied entry even if all other documents are in place. This step has been taken to eliminate impersonation and ensure that only genuine candidates appear in the exam.
NEET UG Bihar Fraud Cases Forced a Tight Crackdown
The decision to tighten the rules didn’t come out of nowhere. In early 2025, the CBI registered a case in Purnia, Bihar, where four students had reportedly sent impersonators to take the exam for them. These incidents shook the credibility of the exam system. As a result, NTA has made the verification process more rigid than ever before, hoping to restore fairness and faith in the system. Face recognition, Aadhaar authentication, and upgraded ID checks are all part of this renewed effort.
Admit Card and Exam City Slip Dates
Candidates can download their exam city slip from April 26 onwards using their application number and date of birth. As for the admit card, it will be made available on May 1, just three days before the exam scheduled for May 4. This year, the exam will be conducted across 35 cities in Bihar, with over 105 exam centres prepared to welcome candidates.
Only Government Buildings Will Host the Exam This Year
To avoid the mistakes of previous years, the NTA has made a significant change in its venue policy. Unlike before, when private CBSE schools were often chosen as exam centres, this year the test will be held only in government buildings. The idea is to reduce the risk of paper leaks and ensure better monitoring. Centres will be under 24/7 surveillance using advanced CCTV cameras and digital verification tools.
Why Face Recognition is a Game-Changer This Year
This is the first time the NEET UG exam will use face recognition as a compulsory layer of security. This technology will make it much harder for anyone to cheat the system. It’s a bold move by the NTA, but one that shows how seriously the agency is taking the integrity of the exam. In the end, it’s about giving every hardworking student a fair chance to chase their dream.
