Eligibility Criteria You Should Know Before Applying
To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must have passed Class 12th (Intermediate) with Science stream from a recognised board. Your subjects should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics. Only those candidates who meet this educational requirement can apply for the post of Laboratory Assistant.
Age Limit Details As Per Government Norms
As of 1 August 2024, the minimum age to apply for this position is 18 years, and the maximum age varies by category. For General male candidates, the maximum age is 37 years, while for OBC/EBC (male and female) and General female candidates, it’s 40 years. For SC/ST candidates, the age limit is 42 years. Age relaxation will be provided as per government rules.
Application Fee Structure for All Categories
The application fee for General, OBC, EWS, and candidates from other states is ₹540. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and all female applicants from Bihar need to pay only ₹135. The same fee of ₹135 applies to Pwd candidates as well. The fee must be paid online using a debit card, a credit card, net banking, or UPI.

Out of the total 143 posts, 56 are unreserved, with 20 seats for women, 22 for Scheduled Castes, including 8 women, and 1 seat for Scheduled Tribes. There are also 27 seats for Extremely Backwards Class, 18 for Backwards Class, 5 for Backwards Class Women, and 14 seats for Economically Weaker Sections, with proper reservation for women wherever applicable. BSSC Laboratory Assistant Selection Process 2025
The selection process for this recruitment will be conducted in three major stages. First, candidates must clear the written examination. Those who qualify will be called for document verification. Salary Structure That Offers Financial Stability
The selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level-4, with a salary range of ₹5,200 to ₹20,200 per month along with a grade pay of ₹2,400. In addition to the basic pay, other allowances like DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), and additional benefits will be provided as per the Bihar government norms.
