Rs 1 crore help for higher education

To overcome this problem, the Karnataka government has announced that financial assistance of Rs 1 crore will be given to eligible students who get admission to prestigious institutions like London School of Economics (LSE) and Columbia University. With this, children from poor and middle-class families will also be able to get international-level education without financial burden.
Scholarship and gift of new schools
To make education more accessible and effective, the government has also announced a scholarship scheme of Rs 120 crore. This will provide financial support to lakhs of students in their educational journey. Apart from this, 500 new public schools will be opened in Karnataka, which will be constructed with the help of the Asian Development Bank. A total of Rs 2,500 crore will be spent on this. At the same time, special residential schools will also be established keeping in mind the education of the children of construction workers, so that they can also move towards a better future.
Improvement in the infrastructure of schools
The government has also taken major steps to improve the condition of government schools and hostels in the state. 50 high schools will be upgraded, while 100 primary schools will be equipped with modern facilities. A budget of Rs 25 crore has also been fixed for the repair of hostels so that the students can get a safe and comfortable environment.
New medical college and expansion of residential schools
Another big announcement in the field of education has been made regarding the establishment of a new medical college in Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district. With this, students studying medicine will be able to get better facilities in the state itself. Apart from this, new buildings will be constructed for 61 KREIS residential schools for Rs 1,292 crore, so that students from weaker sections can also get quality education.
