Recently, through an RTI application (11 February 2025), the question was raised whether NIOS, State Open School or Private candidates are eligible to take the NEET exam. In response to this, NMC (National Medical Commission) has made it clear that students studying from NIOS under GMER-23 (Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023) can appear in NEET UG 2025. For some days, it was rumoured on social media that the rules of NMC have been ignored in the NEET UG 2025 bulletin, but now NMC itself has clarified this matter and said that students studying from NIOS can also appear in the NEET exam. However, a condition has also been kept that if the students are studying any additional subject, then they have to study from an authorized institute only.
NEET UG 2025: Exam Date and Application Process
If you want to apply for NEET UG 2025, then it is very important to know that the exam will be held on May 4, 2025, in offline mode. This exam will be conducted on an OMR sheet from 2 pm to 5 pm. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online application process from 7 February 2025, and interested students can apply by visiting the official website neet.nta.nic.in till 7 March 2025.
