The recruitment advertisement was officially released on March 4, 2025. The same day, the online application process also began. You had until April 1, 2025, to apply for these posts. The admit card will be released a week before the exam, and the exact exam date will be announced shortly by BTSC. How Will You Be Selected?

BTSC will select eligible candidates through an online computer-based examination. The total selection process will be marked out of 100, where 75 marks are allotted to the written exam and 25 marks will be given based on your work experience. That means your knowledge as well as your practical experience both will play an important role in getting selected.

A Closer Look at the BTSC Lab Technician Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted online in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. You’ll have 100 multiple-choice questions, and the total duration of the exam will be 2 hours. Each correct answer will give you 1 mark, but if you answer incorrectly, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English.

What Topics Are Covered in the BTSC Lab Technician Syllabus

The syllabus follows the standard DMLT curriculum, which is already familiar to many of the aspirants. Subjects like Anatomy and Physiology will help you understand the human body better. You’ll also need to focus on Clinical Pathology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology, which includes detailed topics like Virology, Bacteriology, Mycology, and Parasitology.

Haematology is another significant area, as is Histopathology and Cellular Pathology, where you will need to understand blood components and cellular structures. The syllabus also includes Immunology, Transfusion Medicine, and Clinical Chemistry, which are essential for practical laboratory settings.

What Are the Minimum Marks to Qualify?

To pass the BTSC Lab Technician online exam, candidates from the general category need to score at least 40%. For those from Other Backwards Classes (OBC), the cut-off is 36.5%. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Women, and Persons with Disabilities need to secure at least 34%, while Extremely Backwards Class (EBC) candidates need to score 32%.
