Hello friends, If you or someone in your family is going to appear for 10th or 12th examination, then there is a big news for you. CBSE Board has introduced a new and flexible pattern for the board examinations of 2026, which will give more opportunities to the students. Under this new system, now every student will get a chance to take the exam twice, so that they can improve their score and the stress of the exam will also be reduced.

Now you will be able to take the board exam twice

For the first time, the CBSE Board has decided that students will now be able to take board exams twice a year. The first exam will be for all the students, which will be called the Main Examination. If a student is not satisfied with his marks, then he can appear in the Improvement Examination and improve his score further. With this change, students will not have to depend on the results of just one exam. If the marks are not good the first time, then they can improve their performance for the second time. This will also benefit the students preparing for competitive exams, as they will be able to balance between board exams and other exams.

When and how will the exam be held?

CBSE Board has also made it clear that the main examination of class 10th and 12th will start from the first Tuesday after 15 February 2026. Lakhs of students will appear in this exam. If a student wants to take the improvement exam, he can take this exam in May 2026. Its results will be declared by 30 June 2026, so that students can prepare for their next career step without any delay.

Big change under NEP 2020

This new exam pattern has been implemented under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), which provides more opportunities and flexibility for the students. The purpose of this change is that the students should gain real knowledge and hone their abilities instead of just rote learning. This step of the CBSE Board is to reduce the tension and pressure related to the examination. Earlier, students had only one chance, which made them feel a lot of pressure. But now, by getting two opportunities, they will be more mentally calm and will be able to do their preparation better.

New opportunity for students, relief for parents

This new pattern has not only brought relief to the students but is also a comforting news for the parents. Now if a child’s marks are less than expected, then the parents will not have to worry, as they will have another chance.

Will this change affect your preparation?

Now you will be able to take the board exam twice

If you are going to take the 10th or 12th exam in 2026, then now your preparation can be better than before. To take advantage of this new system, you have to plan for both the exams and focus on improving your shortcomings. This new move of the CBSE Board is making the examination system more student-centric and flexible. Now students can make their future better without any additional stress. This change will not only give students a chance to score good marks but will also boost their confidence.
