In fact, a person named Shiv Kumar Saxena had filed a petition in the Delhi court alleging that Arvind Kejriwal and others had misused government funds and installed large hoardings at various public places in Dwarka area of ​​​​Delhi, such as electric poles, walls of DDA Park and intersections. These hoardings had announcements related to Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti, Kartik Purnima and Kartarpur Sahib Darshan, in which pictures of Kejriwal and other leaders were prominently visible. Saxena had complained that he had earlier complained to the police in this matter, but no action was taken. After this he approached the court.

What did the court say?

Rouse Avenue court ACJM Neha Mittal, while hearing the case, said that the complainant has clearly shown that public property has been damaged and this is an offence under Section 3 of the DPDP Act, 2007. The Delhi court also said that such illegal hoardings not only spoil the beauty of the city, but also pose a threat to traffic. Many times these hoardings fall and cause accidents, which can also lead to loss of life.

Strict stance on police negligence

The Delhi court also found that negligence has been shown by the investigating agencies in this case. The police were instructed to take action several times, but the report was not filed. The court said that now the investigating agency cannot escape on the pretext that evidence is not available due to the passage of time.
