Hello friends, Important order of Madhya Pradesh High Court: UPSC will give 5 years relaxation in the age limit to EWS candidates Recently, the Madhya Pradesh High Court issued an important order, under which the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has been directed to give a five-year relaxation in the age limit to the candidates of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) to apply in the Civil Services Examination.
Economically weaker section gets equal opportunity
In this case, Aditya Narayan Pandey, a resident of Maihar city of Madhya Pradesh, had challenged the current eligibility criteria for EWS candidates. He had alleged in the court that EWS candidates should get the benefit of age relaxation and maximum attempts, as is available to other reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC and persons with disabilities. He said that EWS candidates should not be kept under the same criteria as general category candidates, as it deprives them of equal opportunities.
Important decision of the court and order to UPSC
The Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered that UPSC should allow EWS candidates to apply for the Civil Services Examination 2025, and it will be accepted for seven days from February 14. The court also said that the applications of these candidates will be subject to compliance with other conditions, but their appointment orders will not be issued without the permission of the court. After this decision, these candidates have got a big relief, as now they can appear in this examination and they will get equal opportunities as other reserved categories.
Waiting for the final decision
The Madhya Pradesh High Court also said that the results of these candidates will be valid only after the final decision of the court, and the next hearing of this case will be next Tuesday. It is clear from this decision that the judiciary always makes decisions in favour of the weaker sections of society so that everyone can get equal opportunities and they can fulfil their dreams.
This decision is not only a big relief for EWS candidates, but it is also an important step towards equality in society. While UPSC’s civil service exam is always a big dream, now EWS candidates will also get equal opportunity to get it. This also proves that the court is committed to giving equal opportunities to every citizen.
