After this, the government will transfer the remaining amount of ₹ 4,500 to the bank account linked to the UID of the intern.

Interns will get insurance cover

The government is also providing insurance protection to the interns under this scheme. All interns will get insurance coverage under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, the premium of which will be borne by the government itself. Apart from this, some companies can also give the benefit of additional accidental insurance to their interns.
